Internet Cafes

Berlin's numerous internet cafes make it relatively easy to stay on-line in the city. With the advent of free, web-based e-mail, internet cafes offer a chance for people who are in Berlin only briefly or who do not have a connection to the net from home to keep communicating on-line. Many of these internet cafes in fact offer a variety of services including laser printing, courses about the internet, multi-player on-line games.

With two floors and 350 computers, this is the Disneyland of internet cafes. Easy everything is easily the best deal in town. For only 2 € you get 40 minutes of high speed internet access. This café is very large and bright with a modern look to it. Coffee, muffins, and other foods are served along with 1 litre bottles of cola dispensed from machines for 4 €. Its close proximity to Zoo Garten and its low prices attract a largely teenage and tourist crowd who congregate on the first floor and tend to become boisterous at times. Stick to the ground level, sip an espresso, and enjoy.

The computers in the front salon of the library are neither particularly fast nor particularly reliable, but they are open to the general public, and can be used free-of-charge. Not all of the computers have web-access, however, and the wait for those that do can be exasperatingly long.
